Our commitment
Averages.io does not store or sell your academic data: your grades, assignments, courses, and everything else retrieved from your school. One optional feature, Sync Across Devices, stores your profile and appearance settings. It is off by default and clearly explained below.
What we don't store, by default
No academic data is stored anywhere. Averages.io passes your requests through to your school's system and returns the response directly to your device. Nothing is written to a database along the way.
Averages.io's default request path routes through Cloudflare on the way to your school and back, and Cloudflare only handles security and delivery in that process. Nothing is stored there.
What you store
Some things are kept on your own device so the app works and loads quickly. None of this is sent to our servers unless you turn on Sync Across Devices, described in the next section.
- Your sign-in session is kept using a cookie, so you stay signed in between visits.
- Your appearance and settings are stored in your browser's local storage, separate from cookies, so the app loads without needing to ask your school or our servers each time.
- Grades and assignments already fetched are held in your browser for the length of a visit, so moving between pages doesn't refetch everything. That copy is discarded when you close the tab.
If you upload a profile photo or a background image, it is checked for inappropriate content on your own device before it is used. The image is never uploaded anywhere for that check.
What we store
One optional feature is off by default and stores specific data only if you turn it on. When enabled, that data is stored using Cloudflare KV rather than passing through unstored. Nothing else about you is kept at any point.
- Sync Across Devices stores your user ID, your profile and your appearance settings in Cloudflare KV, so they carry over when you sign in elsewhere. Your profile is the name and email address you entered and, if you set one, your profile photo. Your appearance settings are your accent color and, if you uploaded one, your background image. Course nicknames and the order you put your courses in are not included, and stay on the device you set them on. Everything it stores is deleted immediately when you turn it off.
Do Not Track
Averages.io does not track you across other websites, and it does not use advertising or analytics trackers. Your browser's Do Not Track setting does not change how Averages.io works, because there is no tracking for it to turn off.
We will never sell your data
Averages.io will never sell your academic data or personal information to anyone, and there is no option to enable this.
