Is Averages.io made by my school?
No. Averages.io is an independent app built by a student. It is not made by, endorsed by or affiliated with your school or with the company behind your school's learning platform.
You sign in with your own account, and Averages.io reads the same information your school already shows you.
What happens to my grades?
They pass through our servers on the way to you and stop there. Nothing is kept and nothing is sold.
The one exception is Sync Across Devices, which is off by default and stores only your profile and appearance settings, never your grades. It deletes what it holds the moment you turn it back off. The full detail is in the privacy policy.
What is a projected grade?
It reads the trend across your recent graded work in a course and extrapolates where that course is heading. A course sitting at 87% whose last five scores have climbed will project higher than one that has been sliding.
It is an estimate of a direction, not a copy of your current grade and not a promise. Your teacher's gradebook is always the real number.
Why is my grade different from the portal?
The current grade shown in Averages.io is the one your school's gradebook reports, so it should match. If it does not, the usual reason is timing: Averages.io is showing what it last read, and your teacher has posted something since.
The number that is meant to differ is the projected grade, which is our own estimate and never comes from your school.
If a current grade is genuinely wrong rather than just behind, that is worth reporting as a bug.
Do my settings follow me to another device?
Only if you turn on Sync Across Devices in Settings, which is off by default. With it on, your appearance and your settings follow you.
Course nicknames and the order you put your courses in are not included yet. They stay on the device you set them on.
Which learning platforms does it work with?
Schoology today. Support for more platforms is planned, and this answer will say so here when it ships rather than before.
If your school uses something else and you would like it supported, say so in Ideas. Knowing which platforms people actually need decides what gets built next.
Nothing here matches that. Try a different word, or email help@averages.io and a person will read it.
